Workshop Information

Venue and Accommodations

The workshop is in the town of San Pedro, which is about 5 km east of central San José. We recommend that you stay as close as possible to the workshop location as in Costa Rica traffic can cause major delays even over short distances.

Field Trip

Cipancí Wildlife Refuge

Created in 2001,  this refuge aims to protect tropical forest, wetlands and mangroves. 

For the field trip, we will leave San Jose in the morning, attend a guided tour of the mangroves of the Cipanci refuge and then return to San Jose in the evening.  

Transportation for all participants will be provided.

Cipancí Wildlife Refuge

We will meet at 5am and will be returning in the early evening (exact time will be traffic dependent).

Field trip will include a walking visit to the mangrove restoration sites.
